Welcome to Denmark
As it takes some time to learn the Danish language, it is a good idea from the start of your stay to learn about the typical cultural traits of Denmark and to what extent they are different from those of your home country.
When comparing your home country and Denmark we will use Richard R. Gesteland’s cultural patterns
Some Danish traits that foreigners can find difficult are that:
- we are very results-oriented
- we are generally direct in our communication
- we are all in favour of equality
In our “Introduction to Denmark” programme, we describe typical Danish behaviour, norms and values.
“We want to help employees and students who have moved here get their stay in Denmark off to a good start.”
The Introduction consists of a presentation of the Danish language and society, and a comparison between the cultural characteristics of Denmark and one or more foreign countries.
We would like to know in advance the cultural background of course participants.
- At your premises
- At one of AIS Sprog’s teaching locations
- Or at another convenient location
